Interview with Dr Manrina Rhode - May 2020

How are you managing your time during the COVID19 pandemic?
I have structured my day 6 days a week. I take Sundays off without structure.
Monday to Saturday:
I wake up, have a coffee in the garden, then look through any emails, messages that came through overnight and plan my day.
Around midday I workout - I do a Barrys Bootcamp instagram live workout 4 days a week and go for a run or do yoga on the other 2 days.
I then shower and get ready for the day.
I work on my lap to on various projects 2-7pm
- speak to my followers on my instagram @DrManrinaRhode via stories and live videos
- post updates on social media
- see any online review/consultations I have booked in (my diary is open for bookings 2-7pm 6 days a week)
- reply to emails
- write articles for various publications
- work on my website
- write newsletters for subscribers to my course website - www.designingsmiles.co.uk
etc.
In the evening I watch a film, read my book, talk on facetime to family and friends,usually all 3.
Repeat!

Any exciting new skills you’ve learned during your downtime?
I haven't learnt any new skills but have been using the time to expand the ones I have and enjoy eg, exercise, reading and social media interaction.
I'm planning to create an online social media course for dentists but have not started that as yet. Creating an online course will be a new skill.

What are your plans after the pandemic is over?
Unfortunately I have had to postpone the next dates for my Smile Makeover course, Designing Smiles, till October. I am looking forward to pushing forward with growing that.
I also have a product line that was due to launch this weekend that has been put on hold so I have been working on the launch of that and am excited to launch.
I am looking forward to getting back to work but also would like to book some travel once we are allowed to do that again.

What advice can you give to other Dentists during these unprecedented times?
Stay positive, stay focused, stay active.
There is a lot of free CPD out there at the moment.
I am going through veneer cases that I have done on my instagram at 3pm every Wednesday with a lot of useful tips.

Enjoy time with your family if you are with them. We will all get back to work one day, lets use this time in a way that we can look back on it and feel proud of what we did. Stay safe.

Dr Manrina Rhode graduated from Guys Hospital, London in 2002 and is one of the top cosmetic dentists in the UK.

She continued her education around the world, achieving a Masters level in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry at the New York Dental Institute and Advanced Occlusion Techniques in Florida.

Dr Rhode enjoys Facial Aesthetics which she trained for at the Bob Khanna training institute in the UK. She was the first female dentist at Harvey Nichols and Harrods. Manrina is known to teach her well respected cosmetic techniques including teaching at the prestigious American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry annual conference in Hawaii.

In view of her charity work Manrina was named ‘Marie Claire’s 21st Century Woman’. Manrina also sat for 3 years on the Board of Directors as Chair of Charity for the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
