DENTAL TECHNICIANS (QUALIFIED, GDC REGISTERED) - Piece rate
Are you GDC registered qualified dental technician? Do you want to be your own boss but don’t want the hassle of running a business?
If you’ve answered yes! you might want to consider becoming a ‘Piece rate dental technician’ at Bremadent Dental Laboratory!
Bremadent Dental Laboratory is a commercial dental laboratory in London, Walthamstow that manufactures custom made medical dental appliances for dental practices across London, Essex, Hertfordshire & the UK since 1969.
What we are looking for?
GDC registered qualified dental technician with the necessary skills who wants to work on a piece rate, self employed basis.
What is a piece rate dental technician?
You get paid a fixed set amount for each case produced rather than the time it takes, this is also referred to as commission pay, in an essence you determine your own pay.
How does it work?
Each day your department manager will allocate you an agreed set amount of work, once you have completed this you will then fill in an allocation sheet to cross reference the cases for traceability.
The department manager will then quality control the case and will only then approve the allocation sheet. If a case needs to be re-done or remade this will not be classed as two pieces of work.
Once this has been done approved, at the end of the month you will tally up all of your cases alongside your allocation sheets and provide the company with an invoice and you'll get paid monthly.
This is subjective to the amount of work available, there are various areas we offer a piece rate structure on.
What areas are on a piece rates structure?
Crown & Bridge - All aspects including digital 3D CAD/CAM
Prosthetics - Bites, trays, Try-ins.
Orthodontics - Pressure formed appliances
How much can I earn?
Depends on your abilities, skills and commitment e.g A technician producing X10 mouth guards an hour at the rate of £5 will earn £50 an hour if the volume is there.
What if I want to work piece rate but don't yet have the necessary skills and speed?
Contact us and we may be able to provide in house training before and will class this as an internship.
What dental technician skills do I need?
GDC registered, communication, quality & quantity, understanding, consistency, productivity, punctuality, time management and team work.
Other skills: Artistic, creativity, hand eye coordination, problem solving, ability to concentrate for long periods.
Why piece rate?
It's fair, balanced and benefits the technician, laboratory, dentist and most importantly the patient.
Why your lab?
We have a dedicated management team to ensure we operate in a quality controlled environment, we use the best materials required and follow the correct protocols and procedures to make sure the work produced is of a high standard and maximizes the mechanical and chemical properties of the material. We have also invested into the premises with renovations, new machines / equipment to help achieve this and make it possible. We have a diverse team to support the growth of the company which in turn support the development of the team.
