Our Quality Control Standard: Why Bremadent Has Been Trusted Since 1969

When dentists choose a dental laboratory, they are placing a huge amount of trust in the people behind the scenes.
Every impression, scan, prescription, shade, and patient expectation arrives with one simple request: "Please get this right."

At Bremadent Dental Laboratory, we take that responsibility seriously. In fact, many new technicians who join our team often tell us that our quality control procedures are far more detailed than anything they have experienced elsewhere.
We usually smile when we hear that.

The reason is simple. We have spent decades refining our systems to reduce errors, improve consistency, and deliver predictable outcomes for dentists and their patients.

Since 1969, our laboratory has continuously evolved with changing materials, techniques, and digital technologies. While the equipment has changed dramatically over the years, our commitment to quality control has remained exactly the same.

The result is a laboratory culture where quality is not something that happens at the end of production. It is built into every stage of the workflow.

Quality Control Starts Before Production Even Begins
Most people assume quality control happens once a restoration is finished.
For us, it starts much earlier.

Every case that arrives at Bremadent undergoes a technical assessment before it is allocated for production.
Whether we receive a conventional impression, intraoral scan, implant case, denture prescription, orthodontic appliance request, or digital design file, our team reviews the information before any manufacturing process begins.
This initial review allows us to identify potential issues before valuable production time is invested.

Our technical checks may include:
• Impression quality and detail reproduction
• Scan quality and data completeness
• Margin visibility
• Bite registration accuracy
• Prescription clarity
• Shade information
• Implant component verification
• Design suitability for manufacturing
• Material selection requirements

This stage helps prevent problems from progressing further into production and often allows us to communicate with the practice before delays or complications occur. Many laboratory remakes originate from issues that could have been identified at the very beginning of the workflow. That is exactly why we perform these checks.

Date Order Allocation with Technical Oversight
Once a case has passed its initial assessment, it is allocated according to our workflow systems and production scheduling. However, allocation is not simply a matter of placing work onto a bench.

Each department receives work that has already undergone technical scrutiny, allowing technicians to focus on producing the best possible result rather than discovering preventable issues halfway through production.

This creates a smoother workflow throughout the laboratory and helps maintain consistency across every department.

Every Technician Signs Off Their Own Work
Accountability is an important part of quality. Every technician who completes a stage of work is responsible for inspecting it before it moves to the next stage. Once they are satisfied that the work meets the required standard, they sign off the case.

This process encourages ownership, pride, and personal responsibility.

After all, nobody wants their name attached to work that falls below the expected standard. By introducing technician sign-off procedures throughout the workflow, we create multiple opportunities to identify and correct issues before they progress further.

Department Managers Perform Additional Quality Checks
The quality control process does not end with the technician. Once work has been completed and signed off, department managers perform further quality inspections.

This second layer of review provides an independent assessment before the case continues through production. Think of it as a fresh pair of eyes.

Even the most experienced technicians can occasionally overlook something when they have been focused on a case for several hours.

Department manager sign-offs provide another safeguard to ensure consistency and accuracy. This layered quality control approach has become a core part of our laboratory culture.

Quality Control Extends Beyond Manufacturing
Many people associate quality control purely with technical work.

In reality, some of the most important checks occur outside the manufacturing process.

At Bremadent, quality control procedures exist throughout the entire patient journey.
Checks are performed during:
• Data entry
• Case booking
• Workflow allocation
• Production stages
• Invoicing
• Packing
• Dispatch

Every stage contains opportunities for human error. A simple administrative mistake can cause just as much disruption as a technical error. By introducing quality checkpoints throughout the workflow, we reduce the risk of incorrect information reaching the next stage.

This helps ensure the right case reaches the right clinician at the right time.

The Science Behind Consistency
Dental technology is both an art and a science.vThe artistic element often receives the attention, but the scientific element is equally important. Many laboratory materials only achieve their optimal physical properties when processed according to strict manufacturer guidelines.

That is why we place significant emphasis on process control.
Our teams follow established procedures for:
• Water to powder ratios
• Monomer to polymer ratios
• Mixing times
• Vacuum mixing procedures
• Processing temperatures
• Cooling cycles
• Setting times
• Material handling protocols
• Manufacturer recommendations

For example, plaster models are vacuum mixed to minimise air entrapment and improve accuracy. Acrylic materials are measured carefully to achieve optimal chemical and mechanical properties. Processing temperatures and cooling cycles are controlled to reduce distortion and improve material performance. These details may seem small individually.
Collectively, they make a significant difference. A laboratory that consistently follows these procedures is more likely to produce consistent clinical outcomes.

Technology Has Changed. Standards Have Not.
Over the years, dentistry has undergone remarkable transformation. We have seen the introduction of digital impressions, CAD software, 3D printing, milling technologies, advanced implant systems, facial scanning, and artificial intelligence-assisted workflows.

At Bremadent, we have embraced these technologies while maintaining the same quality principles that have guided us since 1969.

Whether a case is produced conventionally or digitally, the fundamentals remain unchanged. The equipment may become more advanced. The quality expectations do not.

Technology can improve efficiency, but quality still depends on having systems, procedures, and people who understand the importance of doing things properly.

Can Mistakes Still Happen?
The honest answer is yes.

Every laboratory, every dental practice, and every healthcare organisation is operated by human beings.
No quality system can guarantee absolute perfection.

However, a strong quality management system significantly reduces risk. Our goal is not to pretend mistakes never happen. Our goal is to create enough checkpoints, reviews, sign-offs, and safeguards that issues are identified long before they reach the patient.

The reality is that quality control is not about being perfect. It is about continuously improving, learning, refining, and maintaining high standards every single day.

Why This Matters to Dentists and Patients
For dental professionals, strong laboratory quality control can help deliver:
• Greater consistency
• Fewer remakes
• Improved communication
• More predictable outcomes
• Better use of chairside time
• Increased confidence in treatment planning
For patients, it can contribute to:
• Better fitting restorations
• Improved aesthetics
• Greater comfort
• Reduced appointments
• Higher overall satisfaction

At the end of the day, every quality control procedure exists for one reason. To support better patient care.
That is what has driven our laboratory for more than five decades, and it remains the foundation of everything we do today.

We provide a trusted laboratory service delivering consistent quality, saving chairside time, and supporting predictable patient outcomes.
