Diagnostic Wax-ups

Our Smile Design process begins with the fabrication of a diagnostic wax up which serves many vital roles.

Primarily it allows visualisation of the completed treatment and can be used to fabricate stents for temporary restorations and preparation reduction guides, all of which are key to producing a predictable outcome.

A pre-op model is prepared in accordance with the requirements of the chosen restorative material, which can also be provided as a prep-guide model. This is then used as the basis to begin the wax up process.

By using pre-op models, full face photos and the rules of golden proportion, we have a good foundation for creating a predictable and esthetically pleasing outcome. This is further enhanced by our unique digital imaging process, which allows us to follow landmark points such as midline, lip line and buccal corridor to create a result which truly fits the patients facial dimensions, and esthetic requirements.

Whilst many laboratories continue to work from models alone, this will never match the esthetic results that our innovative process provides.
